Mercury Fire Protection team contributes to emergency crane basket rescue
Members of Mercury’s Fire Protection Business Unit recently contributed to an invaluable emergency crane basket rescue drill on a project site in Cork, Ireland.
Mercury personnel took full part in the exercise, which took place at the beginning of March, alongside other contractors on the project.
The exercise background scenario was that a casualty had been identified at roof level, presumed to be suffering from a medical condition such as a heart attack or stroke, requiring rescue using a crane and man basket.
This was the final exercise of the current planned series of three, and the first opportunity that involved the Fire Protection team.
Members of the Mercury team involved in the drill were Justin Savage (CM), Derek Raleigh, Cathal Prendergast and Dave O’Brien (HCO).
Darren Brennan, Operations Manager said: “This was a very impressive safety exercise. Well done to all involved.”
