Mercury employees take part in virtual coffee events as part of April wellness initiative
Mercury employees who are working from home are keen to reinforce the message that social distancing does not mean social isolation.
Many of our teams are currently working from home due to the Covid-19 outbreak, and have been sharing photos on social media, enjoying virtual coffee breaks with their colleagues as part of Mercury’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative for April, focusing on wellness.
At Mercury, our culture has always been deeply rooted in our rigorous approach to ensuring employee wellbeing, hence why we are pushing our wellness initiative during these difficult times.
We have many virtual activities scheduled for the month of April to ensure the wellbeing of our staff, such as a virtual bake-off, exercise tips etc. which we are promoting through the use of our wellbeing app PepTalk.
Christie Idemudia, Human Resources Business Partner, said: “These are unprecedented and challenging times. Many of us are working from home at the moment due to social distancing rules.
“Social distancing does not mean social disconnection, which is why we are encouraging our staff to keep in contact through our communication tools, like Microsoft Teams and Yammer, I’m absolutely delighted to see so many of our staff sharing images with the virtual coffee hashtag.
“While we should be physically distant from our colleagues at this time, we want to encourage our staff to keep interacting with each other as much as possible, while working safely from home.”
