Mercury delivers Level 5 IST on FRA15 Frankfurt Data Centre project for Interxion
Mercury recently reached a key milestone on the FRA15 Data Centre project in Frankfurt, Germany for its client Interxion, delivering Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST) on Phase 1.1 of the project. Mercury is the General Contractor, responsible for CSA works as well as the complete electrical and mechanical services installation. This milestone was achieved under exceptional circumstances during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
The project was led by Mercury’s team which included Denis O’Mahony, Project Manager, Joe Marry, Operations Manager, Alan Clinton, Operations Director and Tony Duddy, Managing Director of Data Centres & Building Services.

As such, the safety of all of our employees, subcontractors and clients is the number one priority on this project and Mercury is proud to have completed all works while prioritising the safety of our people throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. This was achieved by successfully implementing a number of social distancing, hygiene and risk controls.
Project Details
The project management and execution teams comprised a mix of experienced Mercury management supported by a local and international supply chain of specialist consultants, vendors and sub-contractors. The logistics and management of third-party elements on this project were of upmost importance and were carried out flawlessly by Mercury site staff and management. The experience that was garnered from previous projects in the locality proved invaluable during this project. Mercury directly employed specialist German sub-contractors for cladding, roofing, steelwork, windows and acoustic screening as well as the internal architectural works.
Mercury has completed the first phase of the FRA15 project. FRA15 phase 1.1 consists of 4.8MW of IT Load, 2250m2 of white space. The total people hours worked on the project were 439, 425.

FRA15 when completed will contain 9,600m2 of equipped space, 19MW power capacity and 700+ connectivity providers. The data centre provides a state-of-the-art, secure and scalable infrastructure designed specifically for the fail-safe, efficient and sustainable operation of mission-critical applications and systems. Interxion’s Frankfurt data centre campus operates the core infrastructure of the DE-CIX Internet Exchange node, which connects 80 percent of its customers.
