Mercury delivers Virtual Quality Site Walks for clients
Mercury has rolled out Virtual Quality Site Walks through Microsoft Teams across its global sites. With travel restrictions in place and our staff being located across over 10 countries in Europe, the need has arisen to develop new innovative approaches to deliver for our clients, while ensuring the safety of all involved.
With COVID-19 social distancing measures in practices across all of our sites, our teams are continuing to deliver projects and achieve key milestones during this unprecedented time.
Mercury’s QA leads are using smartphones attached to a gimbal to carry out virtual QA walks for our client team working remotely, exhibiting the latest installations on site and receiving real-time feedback to sign off benchmarks.
Aisling Goff, Regional QA Manager and Digital Construction Management Specialist said: “This is an absolutely great initiative and the adaptability shown by our project teams highlight our willingness to develop innovative solutions for our clients, while maintaining our first-class safety and quality standards, even during a very difficult situation globally. Our staff across a range of project sites are making use of applications such as Microsoft Teams to deliver virtual site walks as we continue to adapt to social distancing in construction and our commitment to always deliver. I’d like to particularly thank the project team on our London Data Centre site, with a special mention given to Ellie Christie and Ciaran Evans, for all the work done to make this happen in our first trial of this new approach”.
