Department of Agriculture thanks Mercury for vital works on State Lab during Covid-19 Pandemic
The Department of Agriculture has thanked Mercury for completing vital works on a Category 4 Lab in Co Kildare during the early stages of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Ireland.
This project allowed the Department of Health to open and provide the facility for Covid-19 testing for the Health Service Executive.
Works were carried out in collaboration between Mercury Direct Works, Mercury’s Building Service Business Unit and our Technical Support Services Business Unit.
In a letter addressed to Enda Walshe, Contracts Manager, Dr Donal Sammin, Assistant Secretary General said: “On behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, I would like to express my thanks to you for your contribution to the recent expedited works at our Backweston Laboratories.
“It was important for our national response to Covid that these laboratories were made available for use as soon as possible and it is very much appreciated that you facilitated us in doing so at such short notice.”
Enda Walshe added: “It’s was fantastic to have staff from three different business units in Mercury working together to complete this essential works project during the pandemic.”
