Collaborative planning with a Digital Edge
Collaborative planning is a construction management practice that enables and supports co-operation across the project team and supply chain throughout the duration of our projects.
At Mercury we are exploring methods to enhance this practice by leveraging our digital capabilities. We are currently trialling various collaborative planning packages with the goal of gaining insights into the strengths and weaknesses of each.
Our analysis has identified Yolean as the software best suited to aid and improve our collaborative planning sessions.
The implementation of Yolean will enable us to operate more efficiently and will deliver a more consistent approach to collaborative planning throughout all of our projects. We are currently using this software on seven of our projects across Europe, with plans to expand its use across the business.
What is Yolean?
Yolean is a visual collaborative planning tool that allows Mercury to manage our projects throughout the different phases. The platform offers an interactive sticky note system for running collaborative planning sessions which provides a digital edge whilst maintaining the principals and simplicity of this practice. Additionally, Yolean enables project teams to track the progress and project milestones, enabling us to successfully deliver projects for our clients. Furthermore, the option to analyse and process data allows for greater productivity through this platform.
The value of the software
This software allows us to maintain the ease of use of sticky notes used in traditional collaborative planning sessions but improves the experience through a range of innovative digital features. Through Yolean, we can filter for areas, subcontractors or systems which streamlines our collaborative planning meetings. The web-based software allows our people to check lookaheads on their phones, tablets or desktops, and collaborate with team members across various locations. Yolean reduces the amount of administrative work involved with collaborative planning sessions, making it easy to establish effective communication between team members across Europe.
