Mercury launches Sustainability Report for 2021
We are delighted to announce the launch of our Sustainability Report for 2021.
As part of our Beyond50 Strategy, we identified four key ambitions, we call them our Sustainability Duties, upon which we have built a meaningful action plan to progress on our journey.
Our duties are:
- Being an Employer of Choice.
- Minimising our Environmental Footprint.
- Maintaining Responsible Partnerships.
- Local Communities Well-being.
We have aligned our initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and our report also includes a GRI table to summarise 2021 outcomes.
This document is particularly important in bringing our key stakeholders up to speed on the progress we have made on our Sustainability journey over the last 12 months.
Commenting on the launch of this report, Jo-Ann Garbutt, Sustainability Director, said: “Though our journey has just begun, our goal remains to keep innovating so that the built environment improves the quality of life of those living in and around it.”

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS – OUR PLANET, OUR DUTY
We believe that we each have a role to play in contributing to the sustainable development of our planet. With this in mind, we have launched Our Planet, Our Duty, our Responsible Business plan. Our Planet, Our Duty is our promise to help create a more sustainable environment around us. It forms one of the foundation blocks of Beyond50, our five year plan to push further and take Mercury beyond our 50th year in business.
