Mercury teams across Europe proudly celebrate Construction Safety Week 2022
This week, our teams throughout Europe proudly celebrated Construction Safety Week 2022, in association with our US-based clientele.
At Mercury, safety is our anchor value. It underpins everything that we do and is a mindset that is firmly fixed in every individual, team and rank throughout our group.
To mark this global safety initiative, we held site-wide stand downs, daily Toolbox Talks and hosted a range of training exercises for our people and supply-chain members, while further outlining to all, our Work Safe, Home Safe ethos.
We have noted high levels of engagement from our supply-chain in promoting a culture of industry leading health and safety performance onsite.
Over the course of this week, we have conducted numerous internal and external safety audits, and lessons learned will be taken onboard to fuel further improvement.
Toolbox Talks were carried out in multiple languages to ensure that our key safety messaging was fully understood and accessible to our diverse global workforce.
In conjunction to this, our teams also recently took part in Workplace Wellbeing Day 2022. For this, we partnered with Spectrum Life, one of our EAP partners, who hosted Wellbeing live webinars to mark this initiative. We also held informative sessions on the importance of healthy eating and both mental and physical wellbeing.
Alan Gorman, Managing Director, Enterprise Data Centres stated: “The continued dedication from the senior safety managers of our teams and our supply-chain partners further emphasises our Work Safe, Home Safe ethos. This culture is driven by our comprehensive safety training programme, which includes exercises such as Safety Values for Senior Management (SVSM), Making Safety Personal Training (MSP) which have been offered to a range of our people and supply-chain staff over the course of this week. This coupled with Safety Leadership Team Meetings with supply chain directors (SLT) and virtual safety walks on both of our campuses in Berlin has contributed to a greater involvement in safety matters from all working on our projects in Berlin and throughout Europe. Well, done to our EHS teams, people and supply-chain for enthusiastically supporting this worthy initiative.”
World Safety Week 2022 is driven by the US Department of Labour Occupational Health and Safety Administration. Due to the global nature of our clientele base, we are proud supporters of this initiative in conjunction with both Irish and European industry safety events.
