Mercury to spearhead expansion of Digital Realty’s 76MW Paris Digital Park
Mercury, Europe’s leading colocation data centre service provider, has been appointed by Digital Realty to spearhead the expansion of their Paris Digital Park.
This significant contract reaffirms Mercury’s position as a trusted strategic partner with a track record of delivering innovative technologies and life-changing advancements that connect people, communities, and businesses.
A ceremonial contract signing recently took place at the Irish embassy in Paris, France, during an event hosted by Enterprise Ireland. Alan Clinton, Managing Director of Mercury’s Data Centres & Building Service Division, and Fabrice Coquio, SVP, Managing Director of Digital Realty France, were present at the signing, joined by Simon Coveney, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The completion of PAR8 in 2022 and the recent delivery of PAR9 have laid a solid foundation for the further development of this large-scale data centre campus. Through this project, Mercury assists in accelerating the growth of Digital Realty’s presence in one of Europe’s leading digital hubs.
The Paris Digital Park, comprising PAR8, PAR9, PAR10, and PAR11, is expected to offer a total whitespace of 39,000 square metres, providing customers with access to an impressive 76MWs of IT power. Each data centre within the park plans to feature advanced capabilities, including reliable power supply, efficient cooling, advanced alarm systems, and high-density power racks with innovative free cooling technology. Additionally, the facility aims to ensure seamless connectivity with dual fibre connections, offering flexible options for high-speed data transmission.
Our team recently commenced construction on PAR10, which is on track for completion in Q4 2024.
As part of its larger campus works, Digital Realty is scheduled to open PAR11 in Q3 2025, further expanding the company’s data centre infrastructure investment in Paris.
This expansion aligns with our client’s vision to offer carrier and cloud-neutral colocation data centre solutions across Europe. With the completion of this project, Paris Digital Park is expected to be at the forefront of innovative and sustainable infrastructure, comprising four state-of-the-art facilities. All four data centres are expected to be powered by 100 percent renewable energy and certified to ISO 50001.
Mercury’s collaboration with Digital Realty extends beyond Paris. We are currently working together on the delivery of several data centre projects in key regions across Europe. This ongoing partnership helps strengthen our position as a leader in the data centre construction industry and reflects our commitment to providing cutting-edge infrastructure solutions for our clients.
Alan Clinton, Managing Director of Mercury’s Data Centres & Building Service Division, commented: “We are excited to continue our partnership with Digital Realty and contribute to the success of the Paris Digital Park project. This partnership represents a significant opportunity for Mercury to demonstrate our expertise and drive the growth of the data centre industry in Europe.”
