Responsibilities of the Role: 

 

  • Prepare structural designs and reports for structural elements as required by the project, ensure design issued are in line with the commercial team prior to release. 

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing structures  

  • Interface with drafters/BIM to produce packages of drawings for certification and fabrication ensuring drafting/BIM deliverables are produced in accordance with relevant specification and quality standards as specified by the Client and/or their representatives. 

  • Follow closely the fabrication planning and execution phases to provide support as necessary. 

  • Fully understand the scope of the Project works as per the Design/IFC specifications and drawings. 

  • Correspondence with Client , Construction team and subcontractors. 

  • Ensure workload is spread across package team 

  • Mentor & Develop Junior & Graduate engineers within the team to progress there experience and knowledge 

  • Assist to review project schedule and ensure engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g., Procurement, structural design, tech subs, etc). 

  • Follow closely site install to ensure scope is installed to design, project specifications and local codes 

  • Certify Mercury in house designs under Mercury PI Insurance (if chartered only) 

  • Occasionally detail and deliver secondary steel packages. 

  • Ability to liaise directly with clients, architects, and other design discipline team members, building long-term internal and external relationships: 

  • Be a team player. 

  • Willing to learn and understand multidisciplinary design and construction processes 

 

Your Qualifications and Key Criteria: 

 

  • 5-7 years’ experience in Structural Engineering 

  • Chartered or in the process as a Structural Engineer 

  • Familiar with Secondary Steel and Pipe Supports
