Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Preparing and assigning work schedules to the mechanical team and subcontractors

  • Plan and schedule daily work.

  • Supervising and motivating team members

  • Ensuring proper handling of mechanical materials and equipment during the installation stages

  • Maintaining safety standards and adhering to mechanical codes and permits to work.

  • Supervision of the installing all the mechanical equipment that will install in the site, like chillers, AHU, pumps or any other mechanical systems

  • Experience with HVAC, cooling system, firefighting, plumbing

  • Experience with Data Centre redundancy connection and balancing/commissioning challenges within DC’s.

  • Knowledge of weld logs and their procedures, Fusion welding, Crimped pipe procedures and their risk.

  • Structural calculation procedures with pipework supports and loadings.

  • Control and keep track of scope changes, engineering changes and any other changes, non-conformities and technical queries

  • Reviewing work procedures, method statement and suggesting improvement measures

  • Coordinate with the different contractors the execution of the works, interferences and daily follow-up.

  • Hiring, training, and evaluating performances of new employees.

  • Coordinating with on-site personnel from the different departments (civil, electrical) to ensure proper workflow and avoid clashes

  • Supervising on-site mechanical operations and reporting any major issues to the senior management

  • Coordinating with the on-site Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Lead to review any design requirements

  • Providing moral and technical support when needed

 

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • Diploma Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineer experience is required.

  • 10+ years’ experience in similar role

  • Data Centre previous experience required 

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Proficient in use of systems software related to Engineering functions

  • Excellent IT skills

  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise

  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English

  • Ability to work on own initiative
