Scope of the Role:
As part of our commitment to and continued growth within Switzerland, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced local Relationship Manager to join our team.
Based in Zurich, this person will be the local representative for Mercury and will work to build positive relationships with clients, supply chain, local universities, Government Agencies, amongst others.
They will assist our central functions in Head Office by building relationships to support areas such as, HR, Sales/Marketing, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Legal, Tax etc, through lead generation and introductions to the relevant COEs/and stakeholders
They will cultivate and maintain strong relationships in the local market, cementing Mercury’s commitment and local presence, thus helping to increase our attractiveness to local employees, customers and suppliers.
Additionally, this person will be charged with raising Mercury’s profile in the local business economy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with existing clients by providing exceptional customer service, listening to their needs, and addressing their concerns
- Liaison with both local and International Government Agencies to explore new client opportunities
- Support our Estimation/Preconstruction/Operations Teams with new tenders – providing data on the local market
- Support the business in completing competitor analysis
- Support the Talent Acquisition team in attracting local talent to Mercury by facilitating relationships with talent sources, such as local universities, agencies, professional association groups
- Support the Procurement team by attracting and retaining supply chain, both local and non-local, attending local supply chain events
- Advice for project team on local material supply restrictions or shortages etc, maintaining up to date information on local market
- Interface with local authorities/regulators
- Assist central Head Office functions with local customs, practices and communication
- Support new project teams with country mobilisation, helping to identify local accommodation, transport, etc
- Act as an advisor to the Business to ensure positive interactions with local community
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in Relationship Management, Business Development, Customer Success, or a related field in the Swiss market
- Excellent problem solving and negotiating skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of the local market in Switzerland
- Fluent in English and Swiss German
- Full time based in Zurich
- Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with various stakeholders
Desirable Criteria:
- Construction industry experience
- Technical skills an advantage but not essential
