An important aspect of the development programme is the completion of a group research project. Graduates are split into small groups of four or five and assigned a strategic business project to research and present their findings to Senior Management. All topics are chosen by Senior Management and are relevant to Mercury's business.
Scope of the Role:
Mercury’s applications teams sit within Group IT, acting as a liaison between the department and the other lines of business to address and improve business processes through leveraging software and digital offerings. The teams are comprised of several analysts of varying experience levels, including Business Analysts, SAP Analysts and Adoption Analyst. These analysts work alongside all departments and business units within Mercury, aiding with the identification, selection, and ultimately the delivery, of technology related projects. Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, they are responsible for assisting the business to review and improve business processes, providing administration, monitoring and maintenance of software and applications for the overall company.
We are hiring a Graduate IT Business Analyst. The successful candidate will develop business analysis skills, and gain exposure to introductory level IT project management skills in both SAP and non-SAP products. They will evaluate business requirements and select appropriate solutions to address those needs, and participate in end-to-end solution implementation. They will provide facilitate business change, improvement, and efficiency by resolving issues, and customer requests across multiple platforms. A curious mind with an active interest in emerging trends and technologies, such as AI and mixed reality technology, will be important for success in this role.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be focused on delivering business analyst activities to the business including troubleshooting, process automation, testing, change management, project management and project admin. The following describes a typical workload, but it is not an exhaustive list of activities
• Manage incoming requests and incidents from the business via the team’s ticketing system
Conduct initial troubleshoot
Resolve issue where possible, else escalate to Business Analyst
• Support the process of business change, improvement, and efficiency by working with business leaders, process owners and relevant stakeholders to understand business requirements.
Map end to end processes, highlighting business challenges and pain points.
Understand the intended outcome of proposed initiatives.
• Define and document the requirements.
Break complex business problems into clearly articulated requirements.
Assist business stakeholders in prioritising the right business requirements.
Evaluate solution suitability via traceability matrices and other methodologies
Create all required documentation such as RFI, RFP, business case, UAT scripts creation etc.
• End to end implementation of low code / no code app creation, testing and cutover.
• Produce apps and automate processes from requirements documents based on business needs.
• Develop detailed test scripts and lead user testing for ensure quality assurance and UAT
• Liaise with vendors to evaluate suitable commercial proposals & licencing agreements
• Assist in licencing renewal process through analysis of usage, assessment of business requirements and identifying suitable alternative options where suitable.
• Manage and assign permissions and access for a range of software
• Conduct market research of emerging technologies and trends
• Assist in the exploration of AI solutions based on business needs
