An important aspect of the development programme is the completion of a group research project. Graduates are split into small groups of four or five and assigned a strategic business project to research and present their findings to Senior Management. All topics are chosen by Senior Management and are relevant to Mercury's business.

Scope of Role:
Provide Engineering support for all environmental compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assist in identifying environmental issues and providing overall support to environmental and engineering staff.
- Maintain effective communications and liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to collect information and help to identify and respond to or address issues.
- Provide engineering support for air quality, land quality, water quality, waste management, and environmental programs.
- Tasks related to environmental programs may include monitoring; data collection; report writing, data calculations, analysis and interpretation.
- Regulation review and implementation.
- Develop and implement programs and plans to introduce best practices and maintain compliance with European, state, local & corporate requirements.
- Complete and submit required regulatory paperwork.
- Prioritize multiple responsibilities with little supervision and be able to interact with local authorities.
- Assist with Mercury Environmental/sustainability tools: Waste tracker or any related.
- Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety compliance audits and track audit findings to completion. Work with EHS Team.
- Any other duties associated with this role.

Selection Criteria / Person Specification:
Essential Criteria
- No previous experiences required.
- Professional qualification in Environmental field.
- University or college graduate in environmental studies, planning, geography, or related field
- Ideally 2:1 Honours Degree / Expected 2:1
- Level 8 or relevant bachelor’s degree
- Good communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Adaptable and solutions driven
- Able to work in a team environment
- Pride in the quality and presentation of work
- Good organization & coordination skills
- Flexible to travel
- Enthusiastic and energetic
Desirable
- Experience in the Construction Industry or Trade Background
