Electrical Apprenticeship Phase 1 training commences at our dedicated Apprentice Development Centre
This week, we had our first Electrical Apprenticeship Phase 1 training day at our dedicated Apprentice Development Centre in Dublin, Ireland.
The session was carried out in line with the current Covid-19 restrictions, with a small cohort permitted to take part in the training while following strict protocols.
The participants comprised apprentices from multiple projects within our Advanced Technology & Life Sciences, Hyperscale Data Centres, Healthcare and Technical Support Services business units.
The day-long session covered the safe use of hand and power tools as well as the installation of a 13-amp plug top and practicing some tasks that apprentices will see in their Phase 2 offsite learning with the Education and Training Board (ETB).
“For several apprentices, this was their first opportunity to have wired lights and sockets by themselves, so it was great to see them attempt and complete the exercise successfully”, says Conor Gray, Apprentice Development Manager.
“This is their first session, which aims to prepare the cohort for Phase 2 of their Apprenticeship. We have over 100 apprentices, both electrical & mechanical onboarded in the last year and it is our plan that all of them will receive this training as part of their apprenticeship programme”.
