Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Main reporting line to Group Planning Manager
- Also reports directly to Divisional Managing Director
- Member of the Planning Department Management Team
- Member of the Divisional Management team
- Advising and supporting Divisional & SBU Management teams
- Responsible for all aspects of Planning within the Division
- Reporting to EMT on Planning KPIs on behalf of Divisional Management team
- Assessing and reporting on schedule risk levels
- Hiring, managing, training, coaching, supporting, developing, leading Planning staff
- Promoting Schedule Literacy
- Providing training for MDs, OMs, PMs, CMs & construction teams in Planning related topics
- Communicating with the Client in support of the business
- Responsible for implementing the Planning SOPs
- Ensuring that appropriate Planning & Progress systems are in place on each project.
- Troubleshooting any Planning related issues
- Supporting and advising on bids and tenders including project selection process
- Assisting in the preparation of claims and providing data for contractual disputes
- Advising on and developing best practice for the company
- Improving and advancing Planning within the company
- Assisting with Planning Department innovation initiatives
- Covering Group Planning Manager responsibilities when required
- Covering Planning Manager / Senior Planner responsibilities when required
- Travelling to projects, as required, to carry out the above duties.
- In all aspects, maintaining objectivity and factual reporting.
- Assuming roles as part of the Planning Department Management Team subsidiary functions
- All other duties associated with the role.
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience working in planning on large-scale construction projects.
- Be proficient using Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, Excel
- Clear understanding of construction methodologies and sequence
- Able to produce programme to plan and monitor the works from necessary information (drawings/model/SOW etc.).
- Capable of managing the planning of large-scale projects with minimum supervision.
- Be highly motivated, a self-starter & able to work well in a team on or your own.
- Clear communicator
- Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
