Mercury won the tender as Main Contractor to provide a turnkey R&D Data Centre of 6,000m² overall capacity. 3,000m² of space was fitted out in phase 1 at a power density of 9MW. Phase 2 saw the fit-out of the remaining 3,000m² at a higher power density of 14mw.
The facility is on a greenfield site. The cooling topology is chilled water, using hybrid coolers to serve both in-row coolers and traditional down-flow units. The power distribution system is concurrently maintainable, and the facility has 2 50MVA grid connections.
Mercury’s prime CSA sub-contractor was Lemminkainen who carried out the groundworks and building shell with a team of experienced Mercury site and management staff. This team liaised with local and international suppliers, vendors and consultants.
