Scope of work

Manage and drive a team of Foremen to meet all package requirements and milestones.Plan and manage resources including labour, materials, and sub-contractors.  Plan all aspects of piping activities with Foremen and engineers. Prepare 6-week labour lookaheads. Participate in daily whiteboards held by the GC. Hold internal daily whiteboards with Foremen and Engineers on progress, planning and mitigation plans.

 

Responsibilities of the Role:  

Co-ordinate and manage the delivery of the Mechanical scope of work in all areas undertaken by the team under your direct control. Manage all key package content to include coordination, planning, engineering, construction, and package milestones. Look ahead to solve any problems in advance of any impact on the works and liaise with other disciplines within Mercury and the GC.  Lead the way for your team to be successful in the delivery of the package through good management, technical ability, and sound judgement.

  • Provide a safe working environment for all employees under your control.
  • Ensure the Foremen under your supervision are following safety standards for all people under your control.
  • Develop Method statements for all areas of work under your control.
  • Ensure all tool & plant is available to allow for site team to be productive.
  • Ensure that the quality of install is to RFT, all specifications are adhered to, and all works are undertaken in accordance with the project quality plan.
  • Develop any training required for trades that are short of skillsets required to complete the project.
  • Ensure all QA check sheets are being implemented by Foremen under your control prior to handover to QA team.
  • Adhere to Project SOPs/ITPs
  • Manage the day-to-day aspects of work under your control.
  • Develop L3 schedules with planners.
  • Report on progress weekly from L3 schedule.
  • Ensure all delays are inserted in the schedule update.
  • Continually assess productivity onsite and implement plans for improvement.
  • Productivity is a key element for the Supervisor.
  • Monitor the progress of all systems to ensure milestones are met.
  • Be aware of all changes to scope that has a cost and schedule impact.
  • Be aware and manage labour budgets – hours spent against activities.
  • Update constraint logs daily with all package delays both internal and external.

 

Your Qualifications and Key Criteria: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical CM.
  • Mechanical trade or Engineering background. 
    Experience working with any of the following materials, S/S, C/S, orbital and tig welding and fusion jointing.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
    IT skills required – MS Office/Excel.

 

Desired criteria

  • Pharma, semiconductor experience
  • Overseeing all onsite construction
  • Review schedule deliverables.
  • Carry out quality walks of the site.
  • Overseeing and directing construction supervision.  
  • Ability to determine project schedule needs, reporting on 2 and 4 weeks look ahead, reporting on site progress.
  • Carry out safety walks of the site.
  • Lead commissioning activities.
